LashamGlide16 is being run as a prequel to the Europeans (EGC17) being held at Lasham in 2017.

LashamGlide16 will run from Saturday 30 July until Sunday 7 August 2016. There will be 3 classes, all will be run to Nationals Rules, including tasking and scoring, with the starting grid rotating each day :

  • 15m (currently 35 entries): the official UK Nationals, run to Nationals Rules, including tasking and scoring, with the starting grid rotating each day.

  • 18m (currently 12 entries): a handicapped task group rated as a Regional but operated to Nationals rules and procedures as defined in the BGA Rules for Rated Competitions valid at the time of these championships. Eligible glider types are gliders with wingspan of 18m or less within the BGA Glider Speed Index range of 105 to 111. Scores will be handicapped using the appropriate BGA Glider Speed Index. The starting grid will rotate daily.

  • Open (currently 25 entries): the official UK Nationals, run to Nationals Rules, including tasking and scoring, with the starting grid rotating each day.

UK pilots wanting to enter the 15m and Open classes should enter through the BGA website; 18m and non-UK entries to 15m and Open classes should contact the Lasham Office using the entry form on this website.

For 2016 we will be operating the Competition from the South side of the airfield, with improved camping facilities, luxury loos and showers, competition rigging and glider/trailer parking area with plentiful water ballast. High quality wi-fi will be provided, as well as electricity supply for charging batteries etcetera all in one easy location.

The event is sponsored by Sydney Charles Insurance Ltd and NAVBoys, who are putting up serious prizes and will provide on-site support for various LXNAV, Naviter & SoaringXX products; both will have representatives on hand to answer competitorsí queries.

UK and foreign 18m owners, particularly Lasham Members, are urged to enter even at this late(ish) date. Entry fees are capped at £220 (Juniors £130) and there will be NO extra fees for late entry.
